Napa Head - 12in diameter, for 12in Surdo

Two ply black Napa drum head with nylon bottom ply and synthetic leather top. Fitted with strong aluminium, rim.

Napa drum heads produce a warm and almost muted timbre with very few overtones and a short sustain. These heads will generally produce a lower pitch than using a standard nylon head on the same diameter drum.

Napa heads are available for sizes 12", 14", 16" and 18" and we also have a single layer nylon head for the 12" and 18" sizes.  Both napa and nylon 12" heads will fit our 12" repeniques, caxias and surdos. Please note that Izzo heads will NOT fit Percussion Plus samba instruments. Percussion Plus heads are available - please contact us for details.
