Please Note: This Pro Wide Top djembe drum 11" - African drum, has a 10" playing head diameter (=/- 0.5"). The overall diameter of the djembe is approx. 11". Most other suppliers only quote the overall diameter, and so what they describe as '10" djembes' have 9" playing heads.

A professional quality, wide playing head diameter djembe with double knotting, hand carved interior, rubber base and a superb sound. The 10" playing head diameter of the '10 inch wide top djembe drum' is  wider than most other 50cm djembes and is big enough for two-handed playing by teenagers and adults The drum is relatively light and compact, reducing storage requirements and making it the perfect big djembe for primary age groups and a great medium size for secondary and older players.

This wide top djembe drum 10 inch, 50cm height drum has a bright, tight 'slap' tone and a deep, rounded bass tone. You can see the relative size of this djembe to the other Pro Wide Tops in our range in the two group photos below.

Each African drums are turned from a single piece of mahogany and has professional quality, pre-stretched stringing and a thick, natural goatskin head for a long life and a mellow tone.

Other features which keep our djembes ahead of the competition are the rubber base that protects both the drum and the floor and the extra smooth finishing inside and out (no splinters or rough edges).

Taking care: the drum is very tough and will last for a very long time if treated with care. When not in use keep it in a dry place away from direct sunlight or other heat sources. If it should get wet, let it dry slowly. Above all keep sharp points away from the drum skin, as this is the most fragile part.

Guarantee: the wooden drum shell is guaranteed for 5 years and the drum skin is guaranteed for 2 years, but please follow the "taking care" instructions above.
