Description

Please Note: This djembe has a 9" playing head diameter (=/- 0.5”). The overall diameter of the djembe is approx 10”. Most other suppliers only quote the overall diameter, and so what they describe as '9” djembes' have 8” playing heads.

Our low cost djembes are classic instruments, made using traditional materials and techniques, providing an authentic African Drumming sound and playing experience. This 'budget 9 inch djembe drum' (playing diameter) is one of those low cost classic djembes.

The shell is turned from single piece of mahogany, the skin is goatskin and the stringing is soft but super strong nylon. We use three welded steel rings so that the tuning is stable and we finish the Djembes carefully inside and out so that there are no splinters.

The ‘Djembe Drum 10.5" diameter, 60cm high, Educator Star, wood’ is a great size for adults and children will also love to play it by resting the drum on its side on the floor.

The decorative painting of the 'budget 9 inch djembe drum', inspired by Australian aboriginal art, is all done by hand so every drum is different.
